• Work with the green capped vials today!
• Read directions first! 
  
• Designate one person to be responsible for your group following directions-they will be responsible for checking the directions before you ask an adult a question

2. Day Two of the Chemical Weathering Lab

• READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS
• You are working with acid again
  
• Goggles are required of everyone!
  
• Gloves are required to touch the vials or rocks

There will be several stations:

• Waste station: where you pour off the excess acid from the vials, and dispose of the paper towel you used to dry your rocks
• Weigh station: where you weigh you dry rocks
• Your own lab station: Where you should preform all other work

1. Is soil biotic or abiotic?
2. What is soil made of? Name at least two things!

Agenda:
1. Watering plants

• You have 3 group members, and three different plant set-ups. Use your human resources!
• Water the hydoponics so that there is an inch of water in the trey at least
  
• Water the pots until water comes out the bottom

2. Background for Soils Lab

• Read the tan document, and answer the questions on your worksheet

3. Going outside! 

• We will observe out geologic surrounding

Agenda:
1. Finish Research for the Plant Lab
2. Start preparing to plant plants

• Put labels on the pots
• Mix dirt in your plastic Tray
• Add dirt to your pot, according to the instructions on the Day 2 Handout
  

3. Hydroponics Set Up:

• Set up entirely according to the lab packet
• Don't add water or seed with out a stamp!

4. Add seeds and water!!!!
